The team at Shoniker Law are experts in defending and counselling youths, and their parents, through the complicated processes involved in the Youth Criminal Justice system. ALL preliminary meetings, consultations, and court appearances involving children and youth ages 12 – 17 years are FREE OF CHARGE. The team at Shoniker Law is there to help.
FEES
All criminal cases are different, as are all of our clients. At Shoniker Law we will assess the nature of the prosecution and the factors involved. We will then work out a payment plan that fits the needs and financial circumstances of each individual client. The team at Shoniker Law works both with and for our clients.
About Us
Tom Shoniker first pursued his interest in Criminal Justice with the study of Criminology at the University of Toronto. Upon graduation in 1982, Tom then went on to study law at the University of Ottawa. He graduated in 1985 and was called to the bar of the Province of Ontario in 1987. Throughout a career that has spanned over 30 years working in Criminal Justice, Tom has held positions with both Legal Aid Ontario and the Ministry of the Attorney General. He has also held the position of Professor of Criminal Justice at Georgian College, has guest lectured at the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto, and has written and lectured at continuing professional development programs with the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Bar Association, and Legal Aid Ontario. Acknowledged as senior trial counsel, Tom is a proud member of the Ontario Criminal Lawyers Association and the Law Society of Ontario. Tom is presently in private defence practice advocating for his clients in both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Ontario. .
